Atlanta Collegiate FCA
Metro Atlanta is home to over 3,800 collegiate athletes and the 700 coaches that lead these young people. The chaplains of the Atlanta Collegiate Team serve these coaches and athletes as they deal with the pressures of high-level athletics and academics.
The characteristics that drove them to be elite athletes don’t go away when they leave college behind, but instead often drives them to be leaders in whatever professional field they choose. Our team has the privilege of influencing these future leaders. We have the tremendous opportunity to impact the lives of these young men and women with the Good News and support the coaches who pour into them daily. Come join us as we demonstrate the love of Christ to these campuses.
Encounter Internship
Encounter is an eight-week intensive learning experience for collegiate athletes who have completed at least two years of college. Personal spiritual growth is encouraged by training and one-on-one discipleship by FCA collegiate staff. Leadership skills are developed through class-room training and various on-the-job opportunities of planning, teaching and counseling roles. All of these combine to give the participants a holistic view of athletic ministry. Here is what one recent participant said about her experience:
“I can honestly say this internship has been an experience that has absolutely changed my life. It gave me an opportunity to grow so deeply with the Lord and aided in figuring out where the Lord is calling me. As interns, we got to experience many different ways to serve and worship the Lord that I will continue to carry with me the rest of my life. It showed me what real leadership in Christ looks like and how we as athletes can go back to school and light our campus on fire with the love of God. It has also given me extraordinary fellowship and mentors that I am lucky to have by my side during this next season of my life.”
