WORKOUT
Watch the following video and reflect on the questions.  You will discuss them with your coach.

Emily outlines three different kinds of huddles (team, multi-sport and coaches) as well as why you would have one, what makes it good, and what kind of content is valuable within that huddle.
  • What kinds of huddle(s) currently exist on your campus and where is there an opportunity for growth?
  • What obstacles are you facing, or can you imagine facing, in leading a huddle?
Bonus Round - Learn how and why to certify your huddles

REPLAY
There are team, multi-sport, and coaches huddles.  They can meet weekly or less frequently.  For each kind of huddle, Emily helps us consider:
  • why you would use this type of huddle
  • what makes this kind of huddle "good"
  • what kind of content you can utilize with this huddle
Regardless of type or number of huddles, the purpose is to make disciples who make disciples.

PRACTICE
Choose any of the following scenarios:
1- You are facilitating a leadership team retreat to plan a multi-sport huddle for the following school year.  How will you lead this retreat?  What will be your aim and end product?  Turn in an itinerary and plan for the retreat.
2- You are meeting with student-athlete leaders to plan huddles (you can choose Team or Multi-Sport) for the upcoming semester.  What curriculum or plan will you lay out week-by-week and why?  Turn in the plan for the semester.
3- You finally have an opportunity to lead a Coach's Huddle!  How will you proceed and why?  What tools or resources will you use?  Turn in a plan for the semester or school year.
4- It snuck up on you that this week's multi-sport huddle has not yet been planned.  It is also a special day in the rhythm of the school year (pick one of your choice - MLK Jr Day, National Championship, Valentine's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Mid-terms/Final Exams).  You must come up with a plan for this week's huddle.  How will you proceed?  Turn in your huddle plan.
